Chung Uk Lee
CONDUCTOR
Korean-born conductor and bass baritone Chung Uk Lee studied with Dr. Young-Jo Lee and holds a bachelor of music in composition and music theory from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea.
Since moving to Los Angeles, he studied orchestra conducting with Hans Beer, voice with Bard Suverkrop, and choral music with Dr. William Dehning. He holds a master of music in choral music from the University of Southern California. While studying at USC, he was awarded a full scholarship and also was assistant conductor of the University Chorus and taught choral conducting.
Mr. Lee sang the role of Kezal in Smetana’s Prodaná nevěsta with the USC Opera. He has been a soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, and Verdi’s Requiem. He was a member of the Los Angeles Master Chorale. He is a member of SAG-AFTRA. Currently, Mr. Lee is the Director of the Classical Voice Conservatory at the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) and is the Artistic Director of five choral ensembles.
Hae Chung Kim
ACCOMPANIST
Hae Chung Kim brings decades of international artistry and deep collaborative experience to our ensemble. A graduate of the prestigious Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea, she went on to earn her Master of Fine Arts in Piano Performance from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
For the past 18 years, Hae Chung has served as the Piano Accompanist at Hope International University, where she has become a cornerstone of the musical community. Her career spans the globe, having performed as a soloist and collaborator with orchestras throughout Korea and China, appearing in major cultural hubs such as Seoul, Shanghai, Harbin, and Sichuan.
Her expertise in woodwind accompaniment led to her appointment as an international pianist for the China International Clarinet Festival and a featured recording of 20th Century's Dedication alongside renowned clarinetist Tie Bai. Rooted in a lifelong commitment to sacred music, Hae Chung has also served as a church pianist for over 30 years. Her technical precision and sensitive musicality make her an invaluable partner to our vocalists and a cherished leader in our ministry.
